Anadolu Agency reported that President Donald Trump tied a possible U.S. role in Cuba to the return from Iran at an Oct. 23 rally in Florida.

Anadolu Agency quoted Trump as saying the United States would “take care of Cuba on our way back from Iran.” The Associated Press said Trump was answering a question shouted from the crowd.

Anadolu’s account also described U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio as a negotiator in a scenario where a U.S. ship would approach Cuba to within about 50 yards.

Reuters separately reported that Rubio’s post on X urged Cubans seeking political change to pursue a “discrete partnership with the CIA.” Reuters said the post gave no further details. EconoTimes previously covered Trump’s Cuba remarks and Rubio’s CIA appeal.

The reports describe two aspects of the Cuba discussion: Trump’s comment about a U.S. role and Rubio’s reported call for Cubans seeking political change to work with the CIA.
