President Donald Trump voted early in Florida on Oct. 24 as AFP reported Republicans were likely to lose the House and could lose the Senate, potentially limiting his legislative agenda.

At the county elections office in West Palm Beach, Trump voted with First Lady Melania Trump. He was scheduled to appear at a Georgia campaign rally afterward. EconoTimes previously reported the couple's plan to cast ballots in Palm Beach County when Florida began early voting.

Trump told reporters his selections were all Republican candidates. In response to a corruption question, he directed blame toward cities and districts under Democratic control. He also falsely claimed he won the 2020 presidential election, AFP reported.

AFP said the party holding the White House has historically tended to lose ground in midterm elections. Should Republicans lose control of Congress, Trump would have fewer opportunities to advance his legislative plans before his term ends, the agency reported.

Democrats have said they want to scrutinize business dealings involving Trump and people close to him that were handled through the family's holding company after his return to office. Separately, AFP reported that Democrats could pursue congressional inquiries involving Trump or members of his staff. The midterm elections are scheduled for Nov. 3.
