U.S. President Donald Trump has confirmed that the long-anticipated Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) event at the White House will take place on June 14, 2026, coinciding with his 80th birthday. The announcement was made during a speech at Naval Station Norfolk, held in honor of the 250th anniversary of the U.S. Navy.
Trump first teased the idea in July 2024, saying a UFC event would be hosted at the White House but without providing a specific date. Now, the confirmation adds excitement among fans of both Trump and the UFC, two groups that often overlap. Trump has long been a visible supporter of mixed martial arts, frequently attending UFC fights, most recently one in New Jersey in June 2025.
The connection between Donald Trump and UFC President Dana White runs deep. Their relationship dates back to 2000, when Trump’s Taj Mahal casino in Atlantic City became one of the few U.S. venues willing to host UFC events before the sport gained mainstream acceptance. Over the years, the two have remained close allies, with White even speaking at political events in support of Trump.
According to a recent interview with Sports Business Journal, Dana White revealed that the UFC will invest $700,000 to replace the South Lawn grass after the event — a nod to the White House’s historic grounds and the scale of the upcoming production. While TKO Group Holdings, the UFC’s parent company, has yet to comment, the announcement underscores the growing cultural and political reach of combat sports under Trump’s leadership.
As anticipation builds, the White House UFC event promises to be a landmark moment blending sports, politics, and entertainment, further cementing Trump’s unique influence on both the athletic and political arenas.
