Turkish economic confidence rises in February. According to the Turkish Statistical Institute, the economic confidence index rose 1.2 percent in the month to 79.4 from January’s print of 78.5. This rise in economic sentiment was driven by the rises in real sector and services confidence indices.
The real sector sentiment index rose 1.6 percent to 96.9 in February from 95.4 in the prior month. The services confidence index rose 1.5 percent to 79.5 from 78.3.
On the other hand the consumer confidence index dropped 0.7 percent sequentially to 57.8 from 58.2. The retail trade sentiment index fell 1.9 percent to 90.8 in February from January’s 92.5. The construction confidence index also dropped in the month by 8.7 percent to 51.8 from January’s 56.7.
