A U.S. producer-price measure for semiconductor and other electronic component manufacturing reached its second-highest level since January 2007 in September, after rising 26% year over year.

It stood 31% above July 2025. September’s 26% annual increase was the fourth-largest on record; none of the monthly annual comparisons from April through September was below 25%.

In the electronic components and accessories series, annual growth never fell below 25% from April through September; its September level was 27% above a year earlier. The semiconductor and other electronic component manufacturing index recorded year-over-year declines in every calendar year from 1994 through 2021.

The broader final-demand Producer Price Index rose 6.3% over the 12 months through September, its largest annual increase since December 2022, as detailed in EconoTimes’ earlier coverage of the report.
