UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and French President Emmanuel Macron toured four EDGE Group companies in Abu Dhabi on Oct. 20 as their governments exchanged two defense documents during Macron’s visit.
The presidents visited ADASI, EPI, HALCON and POWERTECH at Tawazun Industrial Park. The park has facilities serving defense, aerospace and other strategic industries, the Emirates News Agency (WAM) reported. Products made there were displayed during the tour. WAM said the park also supports the expansion of local, regional and international companies.
The leaders witnessed the exchange of two defense documents: the Strategic Defence Partnership Framework and an agreement on implementing arrangements regarding the defence industry. Representing their governments in the framework exchange were UAE Minister of State for Defense Affairs Mohamed bin Mubarak Al Mazrouei and French Minister of the Armed Forces and Veterans Affairs Catherine Vautrin.
Macron began his Gulf tour in Kuwait before visiting the UAE. He traveled to Bahrain afterward and was due to visit Qatar, The National reported.
