The UK Ministry of Defence said 12 Ukrainian drone manufacturers presented uncrewed systems to British industry, investors and military officials at a showcase aimed at expanding cooperation and investment between UK and Ukrainian industries.

The event took place at Larkhill Garrison on Salisbury Plain. The MoD described the systems as combat-ready and said the demonstrations featured technologies shaped by front-line experience. Examples included surveillance and reconnaissance equipment, autonomous platforms and other emerging drone capabilities. The Oct. 30 announcement did not specify the event date, identify participating manufacturers or provide technical specifications.

The gathering was intended to connect Ukrainian manufacturers with prospective British partners and explore joint development and investment in uncrewed aerial systems and related technology. The MoD said it hopes cooperation will strengthen defense capability and industrial resilience in both countries while opening opportunities for investment and economic growth. It did not name companies expected to benefit.

The ministry said uncrewed systems are evolving quickly on battlefields and are influencing future warfare. It said Ukraine’s success against Russia depends on staying ahead in innovation and getting new capabilities into use rapidly.

The MoD described the showcase as part of the UK-Ukraine 100 Year Partnership outlined in a declaration dated Jan. 17, 2025. The framework sets out plans for closer defense-industry cooperation, joint production, commercial partnerships, public and private investment, and defense research and development. The Oct. 30 announcement did not say the showcase produced a specific agreement.

Louise Sandher-Jones, Minister for the Armed Forces, said the UK government supports cooperation across the two countries’ armed forces and industries. “Ukraine’s security is Europe’s security,” she said.

The ministry disclosed no event cost, investment amount or funding commitment. It also reported no signed partnership, contract or procurement decision, leaving any commercial outcome from the showcase unquantified. The announcement gave no date for further talks or a procurement decision.
