When it comes to fundraising, there is no beating Hillary Clinton. Her campaign raised $143 million in August that brings her closer to her own target of raising a billion dollar to beat Republican candidate Donald Trump. Among that $62 million went directly towards her campaign, while the rest $81 million went to Democratic National Committee (DNC) and state parties. So far, Hillary Clinton has raised $315 million for her campaign, while Donald Trump was able to raise only around $125 million.
Those who have been criticizing Hillary Clinton for receiving big money from lobbyists and special interests would face few points to argue for this one as the average donation size was $50 and around 2.3 million people contributed to Clinton’s fund.
On the other hand, Trump’s suffering continues in terms of funds. July was good for the candidate as he was able to raise more than $60 million but the total amount raised by him is still behind that of Bernie Sanders, Jeb Bush, Ted Cruz, and only slightly above Marco Rubio’s, all of whom have dropped out of the race.
However, there is one good news though for Trump. Hillary Clinton has totally outspent him, her ad spending is now 6 times more than that of Trump, Trump had more feuds and controversies compared to her, according to the poll numbers he is not popular with black or the Hispanics, yet Hillary Clinton is leading him just by 4 points according to average national poll figures.
