US companies beat earnings estimates in 14 of the 18 results reported so far for the week of Nov. 2, according to Finnhub's earnings calendar.
Energy Transfer, Sysco, Uber Technologies and Qualcomm fell below estimates. Berkshire Hathaway, Arm Holdings and Humana are listed as still to report, although the calendar gives dates of Nov. 2 and Nov. 5 for the first two.
Earnings per share measures a company's profit divided by its shares outstanding. The estimates are averages of analyst forecasts collected before companies reported their results.
Apple reported earnings of $2.05 a share against an estimate of $2.03, with revenue of $114.48 billion. Marathon Petroleum earned $26.93 a share against $24.72 expected and reported revenue of $56.49 billion.
McKesson reported earnings of $11.68 a share against an estimate of $10.81, with revenue of $110.96 billion. CVS Health earned $2.09 a share against $1.67 expected, on revenue of $108.40 billion.
Cencora earned $4.66 a share against an estimate of $4.63, with revenue of $88.35 billion. The Cigna Group reported $7.98 a share against $7.73 expected and revenue of $73.79 billion.
Cardinal Health reported earnings of $3.26 a share against an estimate of $2.97, with revenue of $67.51 billion. Archer-Daniels-Midland earned $1.77 a share against $1.62 expected, on revenue of $22.34 billion.
Pfizer earned $0.87 a share against an estimate of $0.73 and reported revenue of $16.58 billion. Advanced Micro Devices reported $2.09 a share against $1.97 expected, with revenue of $13.38 billion.
MetLife reported earnings of $2.85 a share against an estimate of $2.80, with revenue of $19.91 billion. McDonald's earned $3.57 a share against $3.42 expected and reported revenue of $7.16 billion.
Shopify earned $0.49 a share against an estimate of $0.47, with revenue of $3.74 billion. Airbnb reported $3.16 a share against $2.91 expected, on revenue of $4.87 billion.
Among companies that missed estimates, Energy Transfer LP earned $0.33 a share against $0.42 expected, with revenue of $37.10 billion. Sysco reported $1.19 a share against an estimate of $1.20 and revenue of $21.74 billion.
Uber Technologies earned $0.25 a share against an estimate of $0.98, with revenue of $14.77 billion. Qualcomm reported $2.17 a share against $2.20 expected, on revenue of $10.44 billion.
Berkshire Hathaway's listed reporting date is Nov. 2, with estimated earnings of $9,253.77 a share and revenue of $99.78 billion. Arm Holdings' listed date is Nov. 5, with estimated earnings of $0.48 a share and revenue of $1.39 billion. Neither entry specifies whether results are due before the market opens or after it closes, and neither includes a reported result.
Humana is scheduled to report before the market opens on Nov. 6. Its estimates call for a loss of $1.01 a share and revenue of $41.30 billion. No reported result is supplied for the company.
