After a separate Polygon theft was detected, signers locked 6.18 million USDT0, preventing the attacker from exchanging the funds for assets that could not be frozen.

The team detected the Polygon theft about 20 minutes after the Binance incident was confirmed. USDT0 had suspended its Tron-Ethereum bridge soon after confirmation and coordinated with KYT and compliance partners to review activity across networks.

The bridge connects Tron with Ethereum for cross-chain transfers. Signers froze the USDT0 balance on Polygon. Tether froze more than $1.3 billion in stolen Tether (USDT), after which USDT0 reopened the route. EconoTimes previously covered the route’s reopening.

USDT0 reported no disruption to its infrastructure during the pause. Monitoring remained at a high-alert level after transfers resumed, and users could still face temporary delays when moving assets across networks through the service.
