Chainalysis disclosed on Oct. 30 that an outside party used agentic methods in an unauthorized breach of its internal systems and tools, during which some customer identity and role data were accessed.
The data included customers’ full names and email addresses, plus user IDs and role labels tied to their organizations, the company said. Chainalysis described the records as non-sensitive customer data and said it was still reviewing which records from each organization had been affected.
Chainalysis reported no evidence that clear-text passwords, MFA secrets, session tokens or investigation content were accessed. It presented those areas as separate from the customer identity and organizational role data involved in the incident.
Chainalysis provides blockchain analytics services to crypto businesses. The company said the data incident had no connection to the recent crypto theft involving Binance.
Chainalysis said it had notified its customers and would provide organization-specific record details after its review was complete.
