GLENDALE, Calif., June 28, 2017 -- Autumn Hills Healthcare Center, a 99 bed skilled nursing facility in Glendale, recently received a prestigious platinum designation by the California Nursing Home Quality Care Collaborative Recognition Program. Health Services Advisory Group, a Medicare Quality Innovation Network-Quality Improvement Organization that is funded by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services is tasked with spearheading the National Nursing Home Quality Care Collaborative in California. The Collaborative is a five-year project that runs through July 31, 2019 and focuses on supporting the adoption of Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement in skilled nursing facilities through collaborative learning and action networks. Each participant facility receives a composite score comprised of 13 long-stay quality measures that represent larger systems within the long-term care setting. Autumn Hills Healthcare Center achieved a composite score which earned the facility a platinum designation.

Ms. Akopian, who holds two Master’s degrees - one from the University of Southern California’s School of Public Administration and the other from its School of Health Services Administration - has been an Administrator at the facility since 1993. In the more than two decades Ms. Akopian has served in this role, the list of awards she has garnered is seemingly endless and includes Businesswoman of the Year and Administrator of the Year, as well as Presidential awards and Lifetime Achievement recognition. Autumn Hills is also a four time winner of Mariner Health Care’s Facility of the Year award.
In presenting Ms. Akopian and her team with the 2016 Facility of the Year award at a Hollywood-themed event at Universal Studios, Christine Zack, Executive Vice President, Chief Strategy Officer for Mariner Health Central, Inc. referred to Ms. Akopian as Mariner Health Care’s very own Elizabeth Taylor. Ms. Zack echoed Ms. Beduya’s accolades, noting that “Jenik Akopian’s leadership in the long term care industry is legendary.
