Uniswap’s deployment page lists an Ether (ETH)/USDG VolatilePair pool on Robinhood Chain. The hook calculates a separate liquidity-provider fee for each swap direction and updates fees on swaps.

Uniswap’s developer documentation describes VolatilePair as a Uniswap v4 hook: optional code selected when a pool is created that can change how it operates around swaps or liquidity changes. The selected hook cannot be replaced after pool creation, according to Uniswap’s developer documentation. Pools with the same assets can use different hooks and rules.

Uniswap says VolatilePair is designed to help liquidity providers retain more value during price moves. It can charge more on the trade direction associated with informed trading and add a temporary fee to trades that reverse a large move.

Uniswap’s blog cites StablePair as an earlier example, saying its pools recorded $3.1 billion in volume within four weeks of launch. EconoTimes previously covered Uniswap’s launch of Aggregator Hooks across Ethereum, Base and Robinhood Chain.
