Nike continues to push the boundaries of virtual and real-world integration with its latest release in the dotSwoosh capsule. Following the Air Force 1 Low TINAJ concepts, the brand now brings the Air Max 1 into the spotlight with the “Low Poly” edition. First introduced via a stream-like presentation featuring Kai Cenat, complete with low-poly inspired furniture and set designs, this new take on the classic silhouette embraces the aesthetic of the virtual world.

According to Sneaker News, the Air Max 1 “Low Poly” adopts the iconic “Sport Red” colorway from the 1987 original but reimagines it with sharp, angular edges to emulate 3D polygonal designs. The mudguard, quarter, and heel feature pixelated color-shading, giving the shoe an 8-bit, retro video game vibe. Even the Nike Air logo on the tongue has been intentionally pixelated, and the lace eyelets have been replaced with square-shaped pieces to maintain the low-res theme throughout the design.

To launch the Air Max 1 “Low Poly,” Nike dotSwoosh sent Sneaker News an exclusive package designed to look like a scientist’s desk, with LED lighting displays and a drawer filled with accessories.

For those eager to grab a pair, the Air Max 1 “Low Poly” will be available for pre-order on October 8, 2024, at $150. Shipments are expected 120 days after the order date.

Nike’s Halloween lineup for 2024 is shaping up to be one of the brand’s most extensive yet. Beyond releases like the Air Jordan 1 Low “Halloween” and Kobe 5 “X-Ray,” Nike has unveiled official images of another spooky season release: the Nike Dunk Low “Halloween Glow In The Dark.”

At first glance, the Dunk Low “Halloween” offers a traditional black leather and suede upper with a clean white midsole. But when the lights go out, the glow-in-the-dark details shine through. From the laces to the outsole, luminescent accents, including the eerie jewel Swooshes, take center stage. Even the tongue and heel branding sport a ghastly, dripping typeface reminiscent of the Goosebumps series, adding to the shoe’s spooky aesthetic.

This pair presents a more subtle take on Halloween-themed footwear, making it easier to wear year-round than some of Nike’s bold releases.
