Upbit, South Korea's top cryptocurrency exchange, has said four fresh altcoins—Biconomy (BICO), Bubblemaps (BMT), Nillion (NIL), and ETHGas (GWEI)—will be listed. These coins have been added to eight fresh trading pairings, mostly against Bitcoin (BTC) and Tether (USDT). The listings seek to give consumers more trading possibilities; BICO, NIL, and GWEI are available on the Ethereum network for deposits, while BMT will be maintained on the Solana network.
Originally set for 13:00 KST on August 21st, the trading for these fresh assets was formally postponed until 16:00 KST on the same day. Following the news, ETHGas (GWEI) saw the most significant gain—around 11%—prior to the start of trading in all four tokens. To control market volatility, Upbit has put particular trading limits for the first few hours following launch, such a five-minute period of buy restrictions and almost two hours of limit-order-only trading.
Upbit hasn't added any Korean Won (KRW) trading pairings for these recent listings, it should be noted. All accessible pairs show a strategic concentration on these main trading currencies by means of BTC and USDT. Upbit's development draws attention to BICO, BMT, NIL, and GWEI as it reflects ongoing interest and development in the altcoin sector.
