The Uzbek presidential office said President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev proposed 100 joint investment and industrial projects at Friday’s Organization of Turkic States (OTS) summit in Ankara, alongside plans to expand regional freight links.

The office described “Turkic World – 100” as a strategic investment and industrial-cooperation initiative. Projects would include processing rare minerals and producing green-energy equipment locally. Mirziyoyev proposed drawing on the Turkic Investment Fund and international financial institutions to help finance them.

Separately, Mirziyoyev called for regular political consultations on regional and international issues. He also proposed an “Organization of Turkic States Plus” format for engagement with third countries, with discussions covering trade, transport, investment and other priorities, the office said.

For freight, Mirziyoyev proposed two measures: developing the Middle Corridor as a unified economic system and creating a logistics-center network managed jointly by member states. The presidential office cited changing global supply chains and the countries’ geographic and transit position as reasons for closer transport cooperation. It said the proposals could widen freight participation and economic gains for member states.

The office quoted Mirziyoyev telling summit participants, “United, we are even stronger. Standing together, we will certainly achieve even greater heights.”

A day before the summit, Türkiye’s Trade Ministry said Türkiye and Uzbekistan signed an additional customs data-sharing protocol in Ankara on Oct. 29. The protocol is intended to speed the exchange of information on vehicles and goods and reduce border delays.

The Uzbek presidential office said summit participants adopted the Ankara Declaration and other cooperation documents. They backed Uzbekistan’s candidate Mirvokhid Azimov for OTS secretary-general and decided to hold the next summit in Uzbekistan next year.
