A piece of good news and a bit of bad news were announced on late Wednesday regarding the full launch of “Warcraft 3: Reforged.” Blizzard revealed the global specific times when the game is going live. However, the long-anticipated release date delay was also confirmed by the video game company.
‘Warcraft 3: Reforged’ release date: Game arrives in January 2020
Up until Blizzard’s Wednesday announcement, “Warcraft 3: Reforged” was slated to be released “on or before” the end of 2019. To end the guessing game, the developer finally confirmed that the game would arrive on Jan. 28, 2020 -- essentially, Jan. 29 in some regions or just a month of delay from the original plan.
Blizzard did not go into the specifics of what caused the “Warcraft 3: Reforged” delay. “As we started approaching the finish line, we felt we’d need a little extra development time for finishing touches,” the developer said in a blog post.
Fans have been looking forward to playing the full version of “Warcraft 3: Reforged” sometime this year because earlier announcements from Blizzard indicated the game would have a 2019 release date. Some fans have been defending the developer saying a 2019 launch was not promised, but others have the proof that the remastered titled was promised to go live before the decade ends.
Release date delays are, generally, a cause of disappointment, especially when it is announced with less than two weeks from the initially promised schedule. But many gamers also welcome the change of plans saying it is better to access “Warcraft 3: Reforged” at a later time than have it at an unpolished state.
‘Warcraft 3: Reforged’: Know exactly when the remastered title is going live
Blizzard has set a single release date for the game. But given the different time zones, the company released a map of the exact times “Warcraft 3: Reforged” goes live globally. The game is coming out on Jan. 28 for players in the United States at 3 p.m. PST and 6 p.m. EST, in Brazil at 8 p.m. BRT, and in London at 11 p.m. BST.
Meanwhile, gamers on the other side of the world should mark Jan. 29 on their calendars. Locally, “Warcraft 3: Reforged” will go live at 12 a.m. in Paris, 2 a.m. in Moscow and Istanbul, 3 a.m. in Abu Dhabi, 7 a.m. in Taipei, 8 a.m. in Seoul, and 10 a.m. in Sydney.
