“Warcraft III: Reforged” was recently announced by Blizzard out of nowhere and it has since sent the community into a frenzy. It has been known for some that the company was working on a remake for the legendary final installment to the “Warcraft” franchise. However, this did not make the announcement and the accompanying trailer released any less amazing.
If the YouTube clip of the cinematic trailer for “Warcraft III: Reforged” is any indication, it’s clear that there is a massive appetite for a remastered version of this legendary game. Sporting upgraded graphics, the scene is a stunning example of how far the video game industry has come. What’s more, the action depicted is no less striking than the original.
A gameplay trailer for “Warcraft III: Reforged” has also been released and it would appear that many of the things that made the original game great still remain. This is still a real-time strategy game with plenty of base building and resource gathering involved. However, there is a clear upgrade to the graphics department, with the formerly blocky shapes of the characters looking much smoother.
The remodeled characters were also clearly displayed via comparisons in the trailer itself. As such, it’s easy to see how much better the heroes look now than they were in the original “Warcraft III” game. Just to put older fans of the series at ease, PC Gamer reports that “Warcraft III: Reforged” will come with the “Frozen Throne” expansion. It would seem that the multiplayer is even going to be compatible with the original.
As for when fans can expect “Warcraft III: Reforged” to be released, the only launch details released so far is next year. Exact details on when players can run around Azeroth once again as their favorite characters from the franchise will likely follow soon.
