Australia's famous prison drama wrapped up its sixth season last week with a suspenseful season finale. Jake discovering Vera's pregnancy and her eventual fate at the end of the episode leaves a huge hole full of questions that fans are hoping to get answered as soon as possible. Thankfully, even with season 6 ending last Sept. 4, fans of the show don't have to worry about the show ending anytime soon aside from when “Wentworth” season 7 returns on air.
The show was officially renewed for “Wentworth” season 7 ahead of season 6's premiere in June. Production for season 7 had even started a month before season 6, in April. While Foxtel has yet to announce that production for “Wentworth” season 7 has officially wrapped up, the headstart that season 7 has is an optimistic sign that fans can expect the upcoming installment to return to its usual annual schedule.
Even though “Wentworth” season 7 is already a few months into production, the show has yet to release any promotional materials regarding the upcoming installment on social media. Fans have yet to receive a premiere trailer for “Wentworth” season 7, nor have there been backstage sneak peeks from the show's cast and crew. Fans may have to wait a little closer to 2019 for more concrete news on “Wentworth” season 7's production progress.
“Wentworth” season 7 also has yet to have a definite air date for its premiere episode. But considering that it is currently in production and the show's history of being released during the second quarter of the year, fans can expect “Wentworth” season 7 to return sometime in the second quarter of 2019. Considering the show's consistency for over six seasons, the last thing that fans can expect from the acclaimed series is broadcasting “Wentworth” season 7 later than the second quarter of 2019.
Fans of “Wentworth” who need their Australian drama fix before season 7 comes can watch the show's complete six seasons on Netflix.
