Palestinian rights group Al-Baidar said attacks by the Israeli army and settlers forced 20 families from Ras al-Ahmar, a West Bank community where many residents depend on livestock for income.

Al-Baidar said 27 families remain in the northern Jordan Valley community. It said restrictions on deliveries of water and animal feed are worsening conditions for residents and their animals. The group did not identify who imposed the restrictions.

In a separate incident in the southern West Bank, Doctors Without Borders (MSF) said settlers injured a staff member during an Oct. 15 attack on his village. The worker told MSF that about 20 settlers arrived first and others followed. He said some carried rifles, batons, stun grenades and slingshots.

MSF said a rock launched from a slingshot struck the worker, who needed immediate medical attention. A private vehicle took him to meet an ambulance that could not reach the area over unpaved roads. He later received care at a clinic and a hospital.

MSF said violence and intimidation against Palestinian communities around Hebron and elsewhere in the West Bank have increased in recent months. Amnesty International called for targeted sanctions over West Bank olive harvest violence on Oct. 19, saying such attacks were helping force Palestinians from their land.

Al-Baidar said the 27 families still in Ras al-Ahmar face a threat of being forced to leave by Friday, Oct. 23.
