‘Westworld’ Episode 10 Spoilers: Season Finale “The Bicameral Mind” – Maeve Leads Host Rebellion Against the Park’s Creators, Ford Unveils “New Narrative”

‘Westworld’ season 1’s episode 10, entitled “The Bicameral Mind,” is set to feature Maeve as she leads a host rebellion against the park’s creators. Meanwhile, Dr. Ford unveils his “new narrative.”

The brief synopsis for “The Bicameral Mind” posted on Cartermatt reads, “Ford (Anthony Hopkins) unveils his bold new narrative; Dolores (Evan Rachel Wood) embraces her identity; Maeve (Thandie Newton) sets her plan in motion.”

Fans will be treated to a full 90-minute long episode that seeks to answer questions hounding fans since the series premiere last October 2, 2016. The title refers to a theory of mankind’s attainment of true consciousness from the 1976 published by psychologist Julian Jaynes, according to Thrillist.

Dr. Ford previously revealed that his co-creator Arnold used the theory as a guide to creating Hosts. He wanted to use the park as a way for the Hosts to gain sentience through interactions with real humans and not just fellow Androids. However, Dr. Ford had ideas of his own.

In the promo, Dr. Ford is heard saying, "Since I was a child, I’ve always loved a good story. Stories help us become the people we dreamed of being. Lies that told a deeper truth. I always thought I could play some small part in that grand tradition. And for my pains, I got this: My new narrative."

The voice-over covers a montage of action shots, which sees the Hosts staging a full scale rebellion against their creators. It seems that Maeve has successfully recruited Hector (Rodrigo Santoro) and his group of bandits to her cause and she manages to break out of the park. She is seen descending an escalator in what seems to be a Delos lobby in a brief shot.

Meanwhile, it was heavily speculated that William (Jimmi Simpson) will complete his transformation from a white hat into the black hat Man in Black (Ed Harris) as he kills more soldiers to Logan’s (Ben Barnes) shock. On the other hand, The Man in Black looks unhinged as he faces Dolores and is dragged through a church.

Simpson teased episode 10 during an interview with TV Line saying, ‘Well, I would say I was on the edge of my seat all the way until I got the 10 script.”

He continued, “I think we all had different ideas, and then when 10 came — I think I could speak for most of the cast — the general feeling was like, “Holy f—king s—t.” Because basically, what they’ve done is they’ve somehow tied up everything you wanted to know and then pointed this whole world of other s–t that you hadn’t really thought of that now you really, really want to know, too.”

Simpson added, “It’s not some bulls–t cliffhanger where you’re like, “Oh f–k, what now?” It’s like, “Oh my God, thank you, and I can’t wait for more.”

‘Westworld’ season 1’s episode 10, entitled “The Bicameral Mind,” is scheduled to air on HBO on December 4, 2016. The season finale was co-written and directed by Jonathan Nolan.
