The adidas Anthony Edwards 1 "Georgia" aka "Pure Ruby" drops September 7th, while the Air Jordan 1 Low OG "Howard University" arrives in October. Both sneakers celebrate iconic moments in sports and style, offering fans the chance to grab these exclusive designs.
adidas Anthony Edwards 1 ‘Georgia’ Set for September 7 Release, Celebrating His College Legacy
First unveiled during the NBA All-Star Weekend in February, the adidas Anthony Edwards 1 “Georgia” ($120) will be released on September 7th via adidas and select retailers. According to Sneaker News, this “Pure Ruby” edition, inspired by Edwards’ alma mater, the University of Georgia, features the Georgia Bulldogs' red and black colors. The outer shell is vibrant red, balanced by a black sock lining.
Anthony Edwards entered the University of Georgia as one of the nation’s top recruits and left as the #1 overall pick in the NBA Draft. His college achievements are remarkable, including being the leading scorer on his team, averaging 19.1 points per game, and winning the SEC Freshman of the Year award in 2020. Edwards also broke Dominique Wilkins’ school record by earning four SEC Freshman of the Week honors.
Ahead of the release of Anthony Edwards 1 “Georgia,” Edwards shared a simple five-word message with his social media followers.
Air Jordan 1 Low OG ‘Howard University’ to Release on October 12 with Updated Design
Nike, Inc. and Jordan Brand have long supported Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs), highlighted by the Nike Terminator High HBCU collection. In 2022, the Air Jordan 1 Low PE for Howard University athletes caused an immediate stir online. Now, a version of the coveted pair is set for public release—though with several fundamental changes.
The publicly available version replaces the limited edition’s jeweled Swoosh and satin finish with matte leather. While Howard’s signature navy and red remain prominent, the color-blocking shifts to a “Black Toe” design instead of the previous “Chicago” style. Additionally, the gum outsole is swapped for a navy one. These distinctions are typical when player-exclusive styles are adapted for general release, as seen with the Jordan 5 “Oregon.”
The Air Jordan 1 Low OG “Howard University” is slated for release on October 12th and will retail for $140. It features “Midnight Navy,” “Gym Red,” and white accents, elevated by an off-white “Muslin” tongue and laces and a red mini Swoosh on the forefoot.
