WARSAW, N.Y., Feb. 03, 2017 -- Financial Institutions, Inc. (the “Company”) (NASDAQ:FISI) today announced that William (Bill) E. Gallagher has been named Managing Director of Scott Danahy Naylon, LLC (“SDN”), the Company’s wholly-owned insurance subsidiary. SDN is a full-service insurance agency headquartered in Amherst, New York, offering commercial, personal and employee benefit products and serving more than 7,000 clients in 45 states.
In his new role, Mr. Gallagher provides leadership in implementing SDN’s growth-focused business plan and is responsible for managing the agency office. He also continues to be an active producer focused on sales, revenue growth and business development.
Mr. Gallagher is an experienced commercial insurance professional with more than 25 years of experience. He joined SDN in 2009 and most recently served as Director of Commercial Sales. Previously he was an Account Executive at Lawley Insurance and a Client Executive at Marsh.

Mr. Gallagher is a graduate of University at Buffalo with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science and History. He lives in Buffalo and has three children.
