Wolfenstein 2’s New Trailer Is NSFW And Really Pushes Anti-Fascism

Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus. We Got This Covered/YouTube

Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus is the upcoming game in Bethesda’s shooter franchise. A new trailer for the title featuring some gameplay elements just came out and it is classified not safe for work (NSFW). What’s more, the clip also has a very clear message to viewers that fascism must never be tolerated in any form.

As fans of the franchise are already aware, Wolfenstein is set in an alternate version of the world where the Nazis have won and have taken over America. This is where the protagonist BJ Blazkowicz and his band of rebels come in to take down the fascist regime and bring back the good old US of A. In the trailer, viewers are shown how this will be done and it involves quite a bit of brutality.

Of course, the gore and violence are not what makes the video NSFW material. Rather, it’s the sexual content, with a scene involving love-making that is oh so terrible to watch while at work.

In any case, with a title like “NO MORE NAZIS!” it’s expected that the video is going to contain lots of the obvious bad guys getting killed and it does. Think dismemberment, disintegration, and disembowelments. Oh, and there will be swearwords aplenty.

Aside from the sheer amount of potential fun that players can expect, however, the trailer also seems to have another function in reminding people exactly what the Nazis were. As Engadget notes, the Third Reich and its soldiers had absolutely no redeeming qualities and showing swastika flags hung all over the US while the Star Spangled Banner hangs tattered is a reminder of what white supremacists want to do.

What’s more, it’s also hard to miss the hint of political defiance in the trailer at President Trump’s “violence on both sides” speech following the Charlottesville incident. The message is simple: fascism cannot be tolerated, ever.
