A Russian drone attack killed a 43-year-old woman and injured eight people at a workplace in the Shostka community of Ukraine’s Sumy Oblast on Friday morning while staff were present, local officials said.

Sumy Oblast Governor Oleh Hryhorov said the target was a civilian enterprise and characterized the strike as deliberate. He did not identify the facility’s business.

Shostka Mayor Mykola Noha said Russian drones had been attacking the city since the morning of Oct. 30. Noha gave the injured men’s ages as 40, 45, 49, 51 and 52, and the women’s as 51, 54 and 61. He said one woman was in serious condition.

Emergency crews were at the site as officials assessed the extent of the damage, Hryhorov said. Hryhorov said medics were treating the injured. Hryhorov also reported that Ukrainian air defenses had downed several drones, without giving a number.
