XRP carried the highest annualized funding rate among five crypto perpetual markets on Oct. 16, while most accounts were positioned long and Dogecoin contract exposure expanded fastest.
The 7 a.m. ET (11:00 UTC) reading put XRP’s eight-hour charge at 0.0082%, equivalent to 8.9% annually. Annualized figures for Solana (SOL), Ether (ETH) and Dogecoin (DOGE) were 6.6%, 6.1% and 6.1%, respectively; Bitcoin (BTC) came in at 3.9%.
Long-account shares ranged from 61.1% in Bitcoin to 72.9% in XRP. Positive rates meant long positions paid short positions.
Dogecoin’s open interest, or outstanding contract value, gained 8.49% in 24 hours to $216.5 million, the largest increase among the five assets.
The prior reading, taken at 7 p.m. ET Oct. 15, had XRP and Dogecoin both at 10.9% annualized. In the earlier five-market snapshot, they shared the top rate before XRP led on its own the following morning.
