Xiaomi's upcoming flagships, the Mi 10 and Mi 10 Pro, will finally be launching this month. Here’s what’s known about their launch dates as well as their speculated specs.
Online-only Launch
The Xiaomi Mi 10, the Chinese brand’s upcoming flagship smartphone, will be unveiled on Thursday, February 13. However, the launch of the new gadget will be an online-only event and was already confirmed by a social media post on the company’s official account, according to Tech Radar.
Global Launch
However, it appears that there will be another unveiling for the Xiaomi Mi 10 a week after the pure online live broadcast. This will happen on February 23 as part of MWC 2020 in Barcelona, Spain. According to GSMArena, both the Mi 10 and Mi 10 Pro will be announced in the event.
Chinese market availability
Meanwhile, Chinese customers will likely be able to make pre-orders for the Mi 10 and Mi 10 Pro starting on February 10, just three days after its online-only unveiling. The Xiaomi Mi 10 will reportedly hit the shelves in its home market starting February 14 while the Mi 10 Pro will be available for Chinese buyers by February 18, if previous leaks are correct.
At the moment, it's yet unclear when the phones will be released outside China.
Xiaomi Mi 10 specs
Despite its confusing two official launch dates, there is no doubt that the Xiaomi Mi 10 will be one of the most powerful phones to be released in the first half of 2020. For instance, the phone is expected to sport a high-end screen - a 6.5-inch OLED display with a refresh rate of 90Hz, according to Tech Radar.
Meanwhile, the Xiaomi Mi 10 will likely be powered by the Snapdragon 865-chipset. The phone will have a RAM of 12GB and storage of 256 GB. It is also highly likely that some variants might have 5G connectivity as such a feature is slowly becoming the norm for flagship models.
Mi 10 Pro specs
GSM Arena put forth the possibility of even higher specs for the Mi 10 Pro. According to the publication, it could have up to 16GB of fast LPRDDR5 RAM and a 120Hz refresh rate for its OLED screen.
In addition, the Mi 10 Pro is expected to have a four-lens setup for its back camera. Its main camera is a high-resolution 108MP lens while there is a module that is capable of 5x zoom. Its battery capacity is 5,250 mAh that can be fully charged in just 35 minutes with its 66W fast charger.
