In an Oct. 21 statement, Yemen’s armed forces said their latest 24-hour campaign involved 835 operations against Houthi positions; the statement offered no independent confirmation of the reported losses. The army said the campaign aimed to disrupt Houthi movements.

The military described about 285 Houthi members and leaders as neutralized. It also reported that roughly 190 military vehicles and other assets were destroyed or damaged. The operations were part of Operation Dawn of Yemen, according to the statement published by Yemen News Agency Saba.

Army spokesman Col. Majed Abdullah al-Nuzayli cited sniper units, rocket launchers, field artillery, aircraft and drones. He said government forces and popular resistance blocked an effort by Houthi forces to regain positions in Taiz. He also reported continued activity on fronts west of Marib.

A day earlier, the army had announced 744 operations in a separate 24-hour tally, saying 90 military assets were damaged or destroyed. The Taiz Military Axis Command had previously reported 129 Houthi deaths in 48 hours, a figure EconoTimes described as unverified in its earlier coverage of the Taiz offensive.
