Yemen’s Defense Ministry-affiliated September Net said army spokesman Maj. Gen. Majed al-Nuzaili accused the Houthis of a fourth attack on Mukalla’s Al-Rayyan airport within hours.

Al-Nuzaili also alleged the airport campaign was intended to isolate Yemen’s population.

Anadolu said Al-Rayyan serves millions in Hadramout and other provinces, describing it as an important civilian airport. Anadolu’s correspondent said the Houthis used three drones in an attack on the airport Wednesday, the first reported there since fighting escalated again in July.

State-run Saba reported that the Houthis targeted Aden International Airport with a ballistic missile, without giving further details. Residents told Anadolu they heard an explosion near the airport.

Anadolu reported that Yemen’s internationally recognized government continued military operations against the Houthis in the country’s southwest. The latest account follows earlier Yemeni military allegations of Houthi targeting at Aden and Mukalla airports.
