“Yuri on Ice” season 2 is one of the most-awaited anime today. This is only the second installment by the clamor for it has gone high due to the good storyline and characters.
As mentioned OtakuKart, the premiere season of “Yuri on Ice” tells the story of Yuri Katsuki and Victor Nikiforov, world-famous Russian figure skating champion who later became his mentor. Another notable character in the first season was Yuri Plitsetsky, the other fast-rising skater who is in the running to be the next star in the figure skating arena.
Katsuki and Plitsetsky train very hard to make it to the Figure Skating Grand Prix and this storyline is expected to continue when “Yuri on Ice” season 2 airs. But when it is coming? According to Screen Rant, the series is actually delayed and one of the reasons is the fact that MAPPA, the animation studio that produced the series, is currently busy with the film version of another favorite anime, called the “Ice Adolescence.”
Then again, “Yuri on Ice” season 2 is definitely coming despite the long hiatus. The season 1 first aired in October 2016 and it has been more than two years but anime will surely return since it was able to build strong followers even if it is only on its second run.
As to what can be expected when “Yuri on Ice” season 2 arrives, it is predicted to pick up from the time when Victor trains and try to instill confidence on Yuri who lost fate in his own skating abilities. However, since the Russian champion is also mentoring another skater, facts point to the likelihood that the two Yuris’ who is both being mentored with Victor had to compete with each other for the Grand Prix.
The official plot summary for “Yuri on Ice” season 2 is not yet available but the theory stated above makes sense. It was added that there could be a love triangle too and this is another department that Katsuki and Plitsetsky had to compete in. Lastly, airdate is not yet available but it is confirmed to feature a total of 12 episodes
