ZEEKR has commenced mass production of its latest electric vehicle, the MIX EV, days before its official unveiling. The new MPV, equipped with a 310 kW motor and unique family-friendly features, is now appearing in showrooms throughout China.
ZEEKR's New Model Begins Production
The MIX, the fifth model from Chinese electric vehicle manufacturer ZEEKR, has formally entered mass production. The new MIX EV will be unveiled by ZEEKR during a livestream event only days before production begins in China. During the event, we will get a better look at this innovative car.
A Van-Like Design for Family Travelers
Developed by ZEEKR, an electric vehicle manufacturer owned by Geely, the MIX is a new MPV that resembles a van. The news of ZEEKR's fifth all-electric model was initially revealed in March, when the company released the first official photos, according to Electrek.
While not much was known about the MIX at the time, its creators did say that the new model would "break the constraints of space." This new compact MPV is distinctive in its size—not small enough to be a minivan, but not big enough to be a full-size MPV—and was designed with families who prefer to travel together in mind.
ZEEKR MIX Details Revealed
The new ZEEKR MIX, according to Chinese regulatory documents, will have five seats, a wheelbase of 3,008 mm, and dimensions of 4,688 mm in length, 1,995 mm in width, and 1,755 mm in height. Each of the ZEEKR MIX models that were entered into the filing catalog had a single motor and could provide up to 310 kW of power.
An industry powerhouse, CATL, and ZEEKR's parent firm, Geely, are reportedly collaborating on a new SEA-M design that will power the MIX with lithium-ion ternary batteries.
Swiveling Seats and Socializing
According to previous reports from ZEEKR, the new electric vehicle would include swiveling seats, making it possible for front-seat passengers to converse with rear-seat passengers and even enjoy hot pot cuisine while parked.
Later this week, the Chinese carmaker will formally debut the MPV in China, so we will know for sure if any of those specs and features have altered since March. But the MIX is already in the works for mass manufacturing, and some of the first units have even arrived at Chinese showrooms.
MIX Models Hit Showrooms
This morning, ZEEKR announced on its Weibo page that the new all-electric MPV "is finally here" and published multiple photos and videos showing the beginning of the MIX production process in China.
According to the article, the first MIX models that were made for clients have already left the factory and are on their way to their future homes.
