France 24 reported that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky went to Madrid on Wednesday to seek additional military support against Russia, as a summit convened a group whose members differ over backing Ukraine.
France 24 said leaders of the Ibero-American Community are meeting in Madrid for two days. The group has 22 Spanish- and Portuguese-speaking member countries. The outlet reported that positions on support for Ukraine have differed within the group since Russia’s 2022 invasion. France 24 described Zelensky’s trip as unexpected; correspondent Emmanuelle Chaze reported on the visit.
