Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said Spain will provide Ukraine with €437 million in military aid after a Nov. 5 meeting with Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez focused on Kyiv’s defense needs.

Zelenskyy’s office said Sánchez announced the package during the talks and that the leaders discussed its contents. The office did not identify the equipment involved or provide a delivery timetable.

Zelenskyy briefed Sánchez on Russian strikes that had damaged Ukraine’s energy, logistics and rail networks, according to the Ukrainian president’s office. He said Ukraine’s power grid and water supply were “under constant attack.” He also described the situation in Kyiv as difficult and said humanitarian support mattered.

Spain’s government confirmed the meeting and said €570 million had been mobilized for Ukraine’s reconstruction in 2026. Its account did not mention the military package.

In March, Spain announced €1 billion in bilateral military support for Ukraine in 2026. The government said some of the support would be delivered through defense-industry co-production and put total military aid allocated for 2022-2026 at €3.795 billion. The March announcement did not say whether the €437 million package is included in the 2026 pledge.

Zelenskyy also raised air-defense needs in a separate Nov. 5 meeting with King Felipe VI, his office said. The account did not link that request to the €437 million package.

At the 30th Ibero-American Summit in Madrid, Zelenskyy called for international support for Ukraine’s energy system. He said Spain could help supply electrical equipment, cables and generators, according to his office. EconoTimes previously reported on Zelenskyy’s appeal for grid equipment from Spain and Latin American countries.
