WATERTOWN, Mass., Dec. 06, 2016 -- athenahealth, Inc. (NASDAQ:ATHN), a leading provider of network-enabled services and mobile applications for healthcare providers nationwide, today announced an alliance with ADP®, a leading provider of Human Capital Management solutions, to deliver payroll and time and attendance services to the small hospital market. The move marks another step in athenahealth’s progress to service the full continuum of care and bring its unique business model of network, knowledge, and work to help transform hospitals and health systems.
The integration of ADP Workforce Now® payroll and time and attendance solutions with athenaOne for Hospitals & Health Systems® aims to save hospital and health system administrators’ time, effort and money by automating payroll processes and increasing operational efficiencies. By integrating payroll, time and attendance data, hospitals can more accurately track and monitor hours worked and analyze key workforce metrics such as overtime hours and employee absences, which are key to help meet compliance requirements.
“Both athenahealth and ADP are committed to helping hospitals thrive by reducing administrative backlog and cumbersome back-office work,” said Kyle Armbrester, chief product officer, athenahealth. “This integration can help simplify payroll tasks like syncing employee data, processing payroll, recording and approving time sheets, and issuing Forms W-2. athenahealth has found a great partner in ADP to deliver a cloud-based payroll service to the hospital market that reduces work—a critical first step in the larger job of transforming healthcare.”
The integration will also enhance employee self-service, allowing employees to track their time, indicate their time-off, and manage their paychecks and schedules via their mobile devices.
“We’re proud to work with athenahealth to provide hospitals with the technology needed to reduce their administrative and compliance burdens,” said Anthony Maggio, vice president of channel and partner development at ADP. “Streamlining payroll and time attendance processes can help eliminate inefficiencies, save time, and reduce errors to help drive future business success. Our goal is to deliver an easy, seamless, and integrated client experience, and we’re excited we can provide the healthcare industry with the tools it needs so that hospitals can focus on serving the community’s medical needs.”
