Ana recently completed her Ph.D. and a Graduate Certificate in Public Finance, Procurement, and Contract Management, at Florida International University, Miami. She holds a Bachelor of Laws (L.L.B) from the Romanian-American University, Bucharest, Romania. Ana has extensive practitioner experience on government contracting.
Prior to her graduate studies, she served as a legal advisor for a central government organization in Bucharest, Romania, specializing in public procurement. Ana’s research focuses on public management, government contracting, environmental policy, sustainability, collaborative governance. Her scholarship has been accepted for publication in several journals in the field, such as: International Journal of Procurement Management, International Journal of Public Administration, Journal of Public Affairs Education, Public Administration Review (book review and commentary). Ana is the current chair of the American Society for Public Administration (ASPA)’s Section on Procurement and Contract Management and serves on ASPA's National Council.
Her dedication to research and service has been recognized by a number of awards, such as: ASPA Founders’ Fellowship in 2017, ASPA South Florida Chapter’s 2018 Dr. Ray DeArrigunaga Memorial Scholarship, ASPA South Florida Chapter’s 2018 Student Member of the Year, ASPA South Florida Chapter’s 2020 Natacha Seijas “Women in Public Service” Scholarship.
