He has had an extensive academic career thereafter: Professorship; senior management roles; Fellow, Academy of Social Sciences; Fellow, Royal Society of Arts. Journal Editor, member of journal editorial boards. Extensive publication record (books, book chapters, journal articles) in fields of government, public policy, public management.
