‘Game of Thrones’ season 7 on-set photographs featured Peter Dinklage’s Tyrion and Liam Cunningham’s Davos Seaworth meeting for the first time in Westeros. It was speculated that the two emmisarries may be brokering an alliance between House Targaryen and House Stark.
According to The Independent, new on-set photographs of season 7’s shoot have recently emerged showing Tyrion and Davos Seaworth’s first meeting in Westeros. Dinklage and Cunningham were seen shooting a scene together since filming began in Spain this week.
The two actors filmed a scene on the shore of Muriel Beach in Barrika, a location believed to double as Dragonstone. Dragonstone is the original seat of House Targaryen in Westeros. According to Screen Crush, new speculations suggest Tyrion may be negotiating terms with Jon Snow’s emissary on behalf of Queen Daenerys as her newly-appointed Hand.
Although the two characters never crossed paths in preceding seasons, it seems possible that House Targaryen and House Stark are cooking up an alliance for season 7. They did come close to meeting in the season 2 episode featuring the battle at Blackwater, where Tyrion devised the use of Wildfire to blow up Stannis’ fleet that included Davos’ son.
Meanwhile, Maisie Williams posted a new behind-the-scenes photograph of herself together with co-star Isaac Hempstead Wright on her Instagram account, fueling speculation of Arya and Bran’s eventual reunion in season 7. According to Mashable, the two young actors were photographed side-by-side in their own makeup chairs while getting ready.
It was previously reported that Williams was also spotted in full Northern battle garb suggesting that her character Arya would somehow make it back to Winterfell.
‘Game of Thrones’ season 7 is expected to premiere sometime in mid-2017. It is set to consist of seven episodes instead of the usual ten. The series’ renewal was ordered by HBO last April 21, 2016.
The critically-acclaimed fantasy-drama television series is based on George R. R. Martin’s best-selling books ‘A Song of Ice and Fire’. It was created by David Benioff and D. B. Weiss for HBO.
