‘Gotham’ season 3’s episode 6, entitled “Follow the White Rabbit”, is set to feature the return of the Mad Hatter as he continues to cause chaos and play evil games with Jim Gordon. Jim will have to make tough decisions in order to save the woman he loves. Meanwhile, Penguin and Nymga’s relationship will be taken to the next level but it remains unclear if this would be a romantic one.
The synopsis for episode 6 posted on Den of Geek stated, “Mad Hatter sets his eyes on his next victims, forcing Jim Gordon to make some tough decisions. Meanwhile, Penguin and Nygma's relationship evolves, and a familiar face comes back into Nygma's life.”
In the promo for the incoming episode, Jervis Tetch a.k.a. The Mad Hatter (Benedict Samuel) is seen causing more chaos for Jim Gordon (Ben McKenzie) with his murderous games. Jim promises in the beginning scene, “I’m gonna find you.”
The Mad Hatter is then seen abducting female characters. In the next scene, he taunts Jim at gunpoint saying, “The woman you love is going to die. Who do you love? Tell me who to kill. Now it’s up to you.”
This puts Jim in a tough position as he is forced to choose between Lee/Leslie Thompkins (Morena Baccarin) and Valerie Vale (Jamie Chung). The decision will leave one of the women dead either way. It would be interesting to see how Jim will get himself out of this bind.
Meanwhile, things seem to be heating up in the Penguin-Nygma romantic department. According to Moviepilot, a budding romance between Oswald Cobblepot a.k.a. Penguin (Robin Lord Taylor) and Edward Nygma (Cory Michael Smith) may entirely be possible.
The two characters have always had mutual fondness and acceptance of each other’s eccentricities ever since their first meeting. Some scenes on the series also hinted that there may be more to their relationship than brotherly affection. However, the synopsis may also be hinting that the two will finally rise up as the most powerful villainous duo on the show.
‘Gotham’ season 3’s episode 6, entitled “Follow the White Rabbit”, is scheduled to premiere on Fox on October 24, 2016. It was directed by Nathan Hope with a script by Steven Lilien and Bryan Wynbrandt.
