Apple fans were certainly surprised by the announcement and retail release of AirPods Pro just before Halloween, especially since the second-generation AirPods were just launched earlier this year. With the very short time gap between the two devices, is it worth it to buy a new pair of true-wireless earphones?
To answer that question, of course, the main aspect to consider are the specs followed by the price point. The AirPods Pro certainly arrived with new features that feel like next-generation innovations. So tech fans should also not be surprised to find it with a higher price tag.
AirPods Pro specs, features: Is it the best true-wireless earphones in the market?
One of the changes in the AirPods Pro that is very easy to recognize is the new design. Apple reimagined the main body of the earbuds that also required a new design for its charging case.
It should be noted, though, that the new design of the earbuds has more purpose than to be aesthetically more pleasing. The new form is linked with AirPods Pro’s highlight feature, which is the active noise-canceling mode. The new pair of earphones are equipped with special microphones to detect sound from outside and inside the ear. The AirPods Pro is designed to cancel them out through the “equal anti-noise” tech promising an ultimate noise-cancellation feature that is not present in the earlier versions of AirPods.
Another new feature on the AirPods Pro is the Transparency mode. It is practically a toned-down version of the noise-cancellation feature. It lessens the background sound just enough so the user can still be aware of what is happening around them.
Apple has also added customizable silicone tips on the AirPods Pro for the first time. It is also sweat- and water-resistant, which is a feature not present on earlier released AirPods. Apple also promises that the new AirPods requires 30 minutes less than the charging time of AirPods 1 and 2.
AirPods Pro price and where to order
With all the hardware upgrades mentioned above, no one should be surprised that the AirPods Pro is a bit more expensive. And depending on a user’s needs from an earphone, a $249 price tag may or may not be justified. AirPods Pro can now be ordered online through the Apple website or other channels like Amazon.
