“American Crime Story” season 3 has been confirmed after featuring controversial, in-depth stories for the first two chapters. It was revealed that the third installment will be about the deadly Hurricane Katrina that severely battered Florida and Louisiana in 2005.
Plot
As per The Hollywood Reporter, the “American Crime Story” season 3 will show how the medics faced the aftermath of the natural disaster. It will be set at New Orleans' Memorial Medical Center where Dr. Anna Pou works. She was on duty when Hurricane Katrina made its landfall and wreaks havoc in the area.
The hospital has no electricity due to the knocked out power plants, the levees were not serving their purpose and the waters continue to rise but despite these hindrances, Dr. Pou, the other doctors, and medical staff did not stop treating the injured and the dying patients. The “American Crime Story” season 3 will reveal every detail that happened during this time at the facility so viewers can expect many heart-wrenching scenes.
Premiere Date
As of this time, the “American Crime Story” season 3 has no premiere date yet and it seems that filming has not started yet as well. Last year, the series’ showrunner Ryan Murphy said that they still have a long way to go because they have not finalized most of the important production details yet.
In March 2018, the showrunner told Entertainment Weekly, "That's a show where we have a lot of things cooking. We literally just edited the (season 2) finale last week, so we haven't made that decision yet. We're never going to have a Crime Story unless we have the scripts down.”
He added, “I think the reason why Versace went next is because Tom Rob Smith had such a strong take on it. I am not in a rush to move forward with anything unless it's perfect.”
Cast
“American Crime Story” season 3 will star Matthew Broderick, Dennis Quaid and Annette Bening who will play the governor of Louisiana. So far, the rest of the support characters were not mentioned yet.
