“Arrow” season 7 will be different from the previous seasons as Oliver Queen, the Green Arrow, will not be busy saving lives for now. The last installment’s finale showed him revealing his identity, and he was put in prison, so his story could revolve around his new life there.
As to why they revealed who Green Arrow is, executive producer Marc Guggenheim told The Hollywood Reporter, “Oliver revealing his identity at the end of the season would be a great way to fundamentally change the series going into season seven.” But fans should not worry because the showrunner disclosed that the remainder of the series will show Oliver being released from prison.
“When he gets out of prison, the fact that he now has to deal with the consequences of the public knowing his secret identity, that is huge,” he said. “It's not just Oliver, it's also Felicity Smoak (Emily Bett Rickards) and his son, William (Jack Moore).”
Plot
In her interview with Entertainment Weekly, new showrunner Beth Schwartz shared that the upcoming episodes will show drastic changes. She hinted that “Arrow” season 7 will return to its roots.
“I can’t swear though…Dark. It’s tonally similar to season one,” she told EW. “We’re just going back to our roots, and there’s a lot of demons that are going to come out. That’s all I can say.”
The new “Arrow” season 7 poster also gives a clue that Oliver will have the worst time of his life. The image that was uploaded on social media was even captioned with "This fall, Green Is The New Black."
