OVERLAND PARK, Kan., Jan. 12, 2018 -- Black & Veatch, a global provider of infrastructure engineering, construction and consulting services today announced John Janchar has been named president of the company’s rapidly expanding telecom business. In this role, Janchar will lead the four business lines within Telecom: Public Networks, Private Networks, Connected Communities and Transformative Technologies. He is responsible for the overall growth and profitability of the business.
Previously, Janchar served as executive vice president of telecom and a member of the Company’s Growth Council and Safety Leadership Team. He joined Black & Veatch in 1990 and was one of the first professionals assigned to the telecom business at its inception in 1994. Janchar is an expert in the management of complex telecom network infrastructure projects across client segments and has served in multiple roles including Business Line Director, Project Director, Regional Manager, Project Manager and more.

Janchar also serves as the Executive Sponsor of Black & Veatch’s Charity Golf Tournament for Children’s Mercy Hospital and as a board member of the Mid-America Multiple Sclerosis Achievement Center. He holds a Bachelor of Science in engineering management with an emphasis in chemical engineering from the University of Missouri – Rolla.
