Aside from dodging wedding and love triangle rumors, Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani are also hit with unconfirmed claims related to their music careers. Most recently, the country music star was alleged to be forcing the former No Doubt vocalist to produce a joint album.
The initial report was run by HollywoodLife, claiming that a source close to Shelton dished out the possibility of seeing the couple produce an album together. The insider added that the “The Voice” coach is aiming to offer fans a “modern version of Johnny and June Cash” with Stefani.
However, the same source alleged that Stefani was not a hundred percent convinced that it would work considering they have “very different music styles.” But Shelton is reportedly pushing the idea, with the HollywoodLife’s tipster saying, “Blake is very much of the belief set though that where there’s a will there’s a way so, he constantly brings it up and it’s definitely a discussion point, so never rule it out, although he takes a lot more seriously than Gwen.”
Gossip Cop reached out to Stefani’s representative for a comment. The spokesperson shot down HollywoodLife’s claims and maintained that Shelton was not “pushing” the “Hollaback Girl” singer to work on an album collaboration.
For Stefani’s fans, it would be quite hard to believe that the singer would view their different music genres as an obstacle to producing an album with Shelton. Stefani is known as one of the active artists in the music industry who had a successful genre leap. From being the vocalist of a rock and ska band, Shelton’s ladylove pursued a solo career as a pop artist and obviously made it work.
No one seems to be forcing anyone to jump on a music project. But when the time comes that Shelton and Stefani decide to release an album together, they are most likely going to be mutually on board.
As Gossip Cop also pointed out, Shelton and Stefani have already recorded collab songs for each other’s albums. Meanwhile, the lovebirds have also been surprising fans with live performances together during their concert tours.
In related news, Shelton and Stefani are still inseparable and gracing fans’ Instagram Story feeds with romantic updates. The two recently attended a birthday party, with Stefani’s kids in tow, both dressed in Halloween costumes.
