This week, news broke that Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani are making significant progress with their plans of having a baby together. While that rumor spreads, the “The Voice” coach was notably absent from this year’s Country Music Association (CMA) Awards.
Interestingly, Shelton did not attend the CMA Awards while his ex-wife Miranda Lambert performed one of her latest songs “Got My Name Changed Back.” The title, as well as the first lines of its lyrics, obviously make it a pretty accurate divorce song. But is it the reason why Stefani’s beau decided to skip the event?
Country Living suggests Blake Shelton might have just simply been busy and decided to skip the CMA Awards since he was not nominated on any categories. While his fans missed him on the Thursday event, they sure did saw enough of him and his sweetness toward Gwen Stefani during the People’s Choice Awards last Sunday.
Shelton and Stefani have been dating for three years now. They were both asked about getting married, to which the couple agreed that it could happen at the right time. However, a recent report from Us Weekly reveals that the two could be much closer to having a baby than walking down the aisle at the moment.
In the latest issue of the magazine, a report was released claiming that Shelton and Stefani are on their way to choosing a surrogate for their baby plans. “They are in the final stages of choosing the woman who will carry their baby. It’s extremely important to Gwen that she give Blake a biological child, and Blake is so excited,” a source of Us Weekly said.
While Blake Shelton has obviously created an amazing bond with Gwen Stefani’s sons from her previous marriage with Gavin Rossdale, the country music star allegedly hopes to have his own child too. “Gwen just is so in awe of the love Blake has, not only for her but for the boys,” the same source added.
