American country music fans and followers of the hottest celebrity news were rocked by a happy announcement last month — Miranda Lambert got married. However, for some reason, this happy news also triggered a slew of rumors that Lambert’s wedding pressured Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani into tying the knot as soon as possible.
Just days after Lambert confirmed she married New York Police Department Office Brendan McLoughlin, a rumor came out that Stefani slammed Shelton with an “ultimatum” to push him to marry her very soon. A source reportedly told In Touch (via Gossip Cop), “Not only does Gwen want to move out of this ‘dating limbo,’ as she calls it, but she says she needs the security of marriage for herself and her kids’ peace of mind, because they adore Blake and already consider him a second dad.”
The front cover of In Touch’s latest issue at the time was shared by Gossip Cop where a photo of Miranda Lambert and Brendan McLoughlin is accompanied with the words, “It sends Gwen spiraling!” It is suggesting that Lambert’s secret wedding was greatly affecting Shelton and Stefani’s relationship. “Gwen’s tried to be patient, but she can’t take it anymore. That’s why she issued an ultimatum, ‘Marry me or it’s over,’” the same source added.
However, the fact-checking news outlet reached out with Stefani’s spokesperson who denied claims made by In Touch’s supposed insider and reportedly calling their statements “bogus.” This means Lambert’s wedding has not affected Shelton and Stefani in any way.
It is also important to note that other celeb news sources, like PEOPLE, had sources who stated that Blake Shelton actually did not care much about the big Miranda Lambert news. An insider told the renowned celeb magazine, “He put Miranda in his rear view mirror long ago. Miranda brings nothing positive to his life. Their marriage ended and he moved on. Ever since he is grateful every day.”
