Police shootings often show how the effects of the incident affect the victims or suspects and not the officers who fired the shot. “Blue Bloods” Season 9 Episode 15 does the latter and the results are not pretty. Not only is Danny (Donnie Wahlberg) distraught by the events, his life might actually be ruined due to the incident.
As CountryLiving points out, the Reagan family will have a difficult time trying to get over this particular incident. Donny basically had to shoot an assailant who was brandishing a knife after he refused to put it down. He then had to face the consequences of that action in “Blue Bloods” Season 9 Episode 15, which might destroy him forever.
“While off duty, Danny encounters a gas station robbery in progress and is forced to use his weapon, leaving him shaken and his family and co-workers concerned. Also, Eddie (Vanessa Ray) apprehends a turnstile jumper who pleads for leniency by offering information on a missing weapon that's vital to one of Erin's (Bridget Moynahan) cases, and Frank learns that a top officer in his department has a dark past,” the synopsis for the show read.
In recounting the events to Erin, Danny explained exactly what happened early on in “Blue Bloods” Season 9 Episode 15. Anyone who watched the episode would likely also agree that he had no choice with regards to the shooting, but some could bring up the possibility of aiming for the leg. That particular course of action would have certainly been in his training.
"He was out of his mind. He tried to stab me," Danny said.
This is just one in a series of troubling events for Danny, as well, since he also recently lost his wife. “Blue Bloods” Season 9 Episode 15 certainly did not make things any easier for him.
