A couple of weeks before “Boruto: The Next Generations” episode 66 actually airs, there are already some plot details and speculations circulating on the internet. For one, some reports see a possibility that Urashiki Otsutsuki will eventually show up to help Momoshiki.
Episode 65 of the anime series, titled “Father and Son,” is set to air this week. But fans can now have some clues on what is going to happen in the succeeding installment. For one, “Boruto: The Next Generations” episode 66 is titled “My Story,” which hints that the show will tackle the titular character’s perspectives for his future.
According to spoiler reports, Naruto and Sasuke will continue the mission of defeating Momoshiki, who will be taking on a new, more powerful form after absorbing Kinshiki’s chakra. Teasers for “Boruto: The Next Generations” episode 66 indicate that Naruto and Sasuke will manage to corner Momoshiki while Boruto is watching from a distance.
However, it does not seem like everything will be going down smoothly for the protagonists. The “Boruto: The Next Generations” episode 66 spoilers also hint that an “intruder” will appear out of nowhere. If the anime series will stay true to the movie plot, this intruder could be the scientist Katasuke Tōno.
However, Otakukart speculates that this part of the plot will be changed in “Boruto: The Next Generations” episode 66 considering that new characters have since been introduced in the anime series. If that is the case, there is a good chance that the intruder will be Urashiki Otsutsuki, which could also mean that the battle with Momoshiki will not be over soon.
Meanwhile, it is also worth considering what happened in the manga counterpart of “Boruto: The Next Generations” episode 66. Having the same title, “My Story,” the printed series showed Boruto, Naruto, and Sasuke destroying the God Tree and heading back to Konoha. But as this happened, Momoshiki managed to stop time and everything around except Boruto’s consciousness.
Momoshiki mocked Boruto for not being able to see his own future even though he has the Byakugan. The villain proceeded to threaten Boruto by saying he can clearly see the young ninja’s future. Momoshiki also threatened Boruto that his blue eyes will make him lose everything he loves.
Whether or not these events in the manga series will be carried out to the anime franchise remains to be seen. Fans will have to wait for “Boruto: The Next Generations” episode 66 to air on July 26.
