NBC's action-drama series about firefighters just got a recent shakeup. Derek Haas, co-creator of “Chicago Fire,” has been answering questions about “Chicago Fire” season 7 on Twitter lately. With the show's Gabby Dawson (Monica Raymund) and Matthew Casey (Jesse Spencer) finally sealing the “Dawsey” love team by getting married during the show's 100th episode, fans are looking towards other love teams to fulfill their need for “will-they-won't-they” antics.
One of the best nominees for a new love team that fans have always rooted for is the “Chicago Fire” and “Chicago P.D.” crossover romance of Det. Antonio Dawson (Jon Seda) and Sylvie Brett (Kara Killmer). Unfortunately, it seems that being major characters of two wholly different series' is making the relationship between the detective and paramedic a tough topic for the “Chicago Fire's” writers to work around.
Haas himself has been brief when answering fan questions about Dawson and Brett's relationship in the upcoming “Chicago Fire” season 7. When asked what the chances are of the relationship surviving season 7, Haas poses the question “How thick is a thread,” which means a pretty slim chance that fans of Jon Seda and Kara Killmer's characters will be seeing Antonio Dawson and Sylvie Brett take their relationship any further.

Haas goes on to confirm that Brett and Antonio's relationship won't be happening in a further Twitter post. When asked by a fan for updates specifically on Sylvie Brett, Haas answers that the paramedic will get a possible new love interest for “Chicago Fire” season 7.

Unfortunately for fans, Haas did not share any leads on who could be the paramedic's new love interest. Also, there has yet to be any leak about new cast members who might be eligible to be Sylvie Brett's love interest. “Chicago Fire” season 7 only recently cast “Arrow” actress Annie Ilonzeh as Brett's new partner. There is a possibility that Steven Boyer's Jerry Gorsuch who has been confirmed to return as a recurring character, can be a potential love interest for Brett.
Fans of “Chicago Fire” can look forward to season 7 airing its premiere episode on Sept. 26.
