CLEARWATER, Fla., Dec. 14, 2017 -- As Christmas comes closer, the Clearwater Community Volunteers is continuing the Annual Winter Wonderland in downtown Clearwater through to the 22nd of December. This free holiday festival also serves as a food and toy drive for local charities, to help families in need. Charities served this year include Nourish to Flourish and the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Police Athletic League.
Located at the corner of Drew Street and Osceola Ave in Clearwater, Winter Wonderland includes visits with Santa and Mrs. Claus, a petting zoo, bouncy house, playground, pony rides and live entertainment. The festival is open Wednesday through Sunday, from 6 – 9pm.
On closing night, the 22nd of December, Winter Wonderland will host Great Britain’s #1 Swing Band, and stars of Britain’s Got Talent, the Jives Aces.
“This is a season for creating cheer and giving children a gift of wonder and joy,” said Pam Ryan Anderson, the Executive Director of Winter Wonderland. “L. Ron Hubbard, the founder of Scientology wrote ‘Love and help children,’ and this is something that Clearwater Community Volunteers takes very seriously.”
“After a grand opening celebration with 2,000 members from the community, we have had a steady stream of families come through to enjoy Winter Wonderland,” continued Anderson. “People who first came to Winter Wonderland as children 25 years ago are now bringing their children.”
The holiday tradition continues through to the 22nd of December, but visitors can stop by for the Wonderland through Christmas Day.
