Donald Trump 2019: Dems Predict ‘House of Cards’ Style Coup? POTUS & VP Jailed, Pelosi Assumes White House?

The Donald Trump presidency is currently mired in controversy after controversy, with everything from the Russia probe to the 2016 campaign finance investigation casting a cloud over the White House. With the issues piling up and the party’s impending seizure of power next year, Democrats have been feeling bolder. Some have even felt confident enough to predict an end to the Trump era by Easter 2020.

Since Donald Trump took office, many have commented on how it was as if every day is an episode of “House of Cards.” Nightly news cycles covered what new controversial thing the president just posted on social media or said in the White House. In a recent Tweet, Florida Democrat Pam Keith threw in her own take on where all of this is going with a prediction.

“My prediction: By Easter 2020, Trump & Pence will both be gone. Pelosi will be president. Rick Scott will be the GOP nominee. Half a dozen GOP Senators will be implicated in crimes. Dems will be playing defense against an angry GOP but the majority will crucify the party of Trump,” the Tweet reads.

This is a sentiment that has been shared by a lot of news media personalities, pundits, and late night talk show hosts. However, Donald Trump has also proven to be resilient in surviving all absurd situations that he has become involved in, so far. Even with the impending submission of reports from the Mueller probe, there are no guarantees that it would cause the sitting president any harm.

For now, what this Tweet represents is simply wishful thinking on the part of Democrats who wish for a return to when Washington functioned as the center of the country’s government. As of now, Donald Trump will continue to be the president of the United States for two more years.
